Over the past few years, I’ve worked with a range of mid- to high-end restaurant brands and more than 20 sponsored partners, helping bring their identities to life through video. As a solo videographer and editor, I craft visual stories that capture each brand’s unique mood, style, and personality.
Film, light & edit for Ivy Asia :
FILM : It’s all about movement, which is why gimbal work is key. Some handheld work is required, but only a pinch of tripod use.
LIGHT : For lunch time vibes, mainly daylight highlights the surroundings with a subtle warm tungsten light over the dining tables. Evening is represented with… and the food presentation shots have a lot of contrast and dark areas in the frame, making the food colours really pop.
EDIT : An experience for all the senses, which is why it moves fast, dazzling you with the many authentic and theatrical things to see and experience within the brand. A fun energy and pace to the edit.
CAMPAIGNS
It’s a big responsibility, but also very rewarding as a videographer, to be trusted to use your skills and knowledge to help form the look and feel of a brand.
We filmed the Year of the Snake campaign with 1.6x anamorphic lenses, creating those beautiful flares and that very cinematic aspect ratio. In the edit, we went for a 1.5x aspect ratio, which just gave us a little less trim on the height.

SUMMER ESCAPE
Bubble Tea was the first time using long exposure with any of the brands. It was a good test and even though I love the final result, we decided quickly that this type of filming wasn’t what we wanted for Ivy Asia. Summer Escape is the more traditional style shoot that The Ivy Asia brand wants.

There’s lots to cover at events, as you need to capture the whole guest experience from start to finish. Location, entertainment, service, food, drinks, guests, atmosphere; you have to be ready to film at short notice or the moment has gone forever.
